Roads for life goes global through its unique involvement in post-crash response

13 October 2015

Roads for Life has been a member of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety since 2013.

The Global Alliance of NGOs for Roads Safety’s framework falls into supporting the implementation of the United Nations' Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020.

Managed by the FIA Foundation, in partnership with the World Health Organization, the Fund is working with some of the world’s leading companies and road safety NGOs to design and deliver evidence-based capacity building projects and injury prevention pilot programs in Africa, Asia and South America.

The United Nations’ Decade of Action for Road Safety revolves around 5 pillars:

    o
  • Road Safety Management
  • o
  • Safer Roads and Mobility
  • o
  • Safer Vehicles
  • o
  • Safer Road Users
  • o
  • Post-Crash Response

Roads for Life has been working on the neglected Pillar 5 and has been featured through an issue of the Global Alliance's newsletter on May 28th 2015.

"Through the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety, I sincerely hope that we can save human lives. It is totally unacceptable more than one million people die on the roads and more than fifty million are injured."
