600 LRC Paramedics Trained Since 2012

29 May 2018

Since 2012, Roads For Life has offered the Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) to the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) paramedics course promoting the education of volunteers in prehospital care and managing trauma patients in the “Golden Hour” of trauma.

To date, 600 LRC paramedics have been trained in a total of 28 PHTLS courses, improving the overall quality of trauma care for patients and decreasing the mortality rate across Lebanon.

In 2018, for the first time in Lebanon, Roads For Life offered LRC volunteers in Bekaa, Akkar, and Aley the PHTLS course in Arabic. This enables the rapid detection and treatment of acute life-threatening injuries, allowing for a much wider reach across Lebanon.

Roads For Life will continue training and further widening its scope across Lebanon, which would not have been possible without the support and partnership with BLC Bank.
