Roads For Life and the Internal Security Forces Work Towards a Safer Lebanon
04-26-2019

Roads For Life, in collaboration with BLC Bank, has provided 40 officers of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) with the First Responder Course in 2019. Each officer received a kit upon completion of extensive training on managing the scene of the accident, as well as the skills and knowledge to identify life threatening conditions prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Services.

Police officers are trained over a period of seven days at the ISF Training Institute in Aramoun. The training allows them to strengthen their on-site accident response skills, as well as heighten their readiness and preparedness for accidents and trauma care.

The RFL team maintains that the First Responder program will be the best means of support for the ISF until the Good Samaritan law is amended. The Good Samaritan law would encourage potential rescuers to intervene without fear of legal consequences. RFL is currently addressing this issue with the relevant authorities. Implementation of the Good Samaritan Law along with further and extensive First Responder training will no doubt make for safer roads in Lebanon.
